Transportation Performance Management (TPM) is an effort to measure and improve the performance of our regional transportation systems. Federal law (the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act [MAP-21]and the Fix America’s Surface Transportation Act [FAST Act]) has mandated the implementation of various performance metrics, so that State Departments of Transportation (DOTs) and Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) make smarter transportation investments and better policy decisions.
