Annual List of Obligated Projects
The TIP describes and prioritizes surface transportation programs and projects that the OahuMPO Policy Committee has selected for implementation during the program period. Federal funds must be obligated (i.e., set aside) in order to begin work on any federally-funded phase of a transportation project. Once the federal funds are obligated for a particular task, the funds can be then used to pay for the task. This does not necessarily mean that the work on the project is underway. It may take a while, for example, to select and hire a consultant for the job.
Reports are prepared annually, following the end of each federal fiscal year (ending September 30) documenting the amount of federal funds obligated for each project in the federal fiscal year that just ended.
