Approval of the February 21, 2007 Meeting Minutes

Joint Traffic Management Center
·
The City and
County of Honolulu’s Department of Transportation Services is developing a
Joint Traffic Management Center.
Agencies that are expected to be part of the Center include the City and
State transportation departments, the Oahu Civil Defense Agency, the Honolulu Police
and Fire Departments, and the Honolulu Emergency Medical Service Agency. A presentation of the current status of the
Joint Traffic Management Center will be made by Mr. Ty Fukumitsu.

Meeting Highlights

A summary of
the OahuMPO Policy Committee and Technical Advisory Committee meetings that
have been held since the February 2007 CAC meeting will be given.

4.A. FYs 2006-2008 Transportation Improvement
Program (TIP) Draft Amendment #11
·
The draft TIP
Amendment #11 is a non-administrative amendment that changes the number of
buses.
·
The public
review period for this draft amendment began Monday, March 12, 2007. The draft amendment is available on the
OahuMPO website. Comments on draft TIP
Amendment #11 may be mailed, faxed, or emailed to the OahuMPO office no later
than Friday, April 13, 2007.
4.B. FY 2008 Draft Overall Work Program (OWP)
·
A public
review period for the draft FY 2008 OWP is underway. Comments may be mailed, faxed, or emailed to
the OahuMPO office no later than Monday, April 2, 2007.
4.C. OahuMPO
Certification Review Update
·
The
Federal Transit Administration and the Federal Highway Administration will be
conducting a public meeting to gather information about the OahuMPO planning
process. The meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday, April 4, 2007 (time and place to be determined).
·
A special CAC
meeting will be convened concurrently with the public meeting on the certification of the metropolitan
transportation planning process. Federal
transportation officials will be facilitating this meeting. Attendees will be asked their thoughts on the
OahuMPO planning process.

Transit access via TheBus Routes
1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 43, 52, 53, 54, 62 and CityExpress! Routes A, B, C; see www.thebus.org or call
848-5555 for route specifics and time table; pedestrian access from Punchbowl
and King Streets; bicycle racks are available at Honolulu Hale.
Wheelchair access is provided in front of Honolulu Hale, parallel to King
Street. Take elevators inside Honolulu Hale to the 3rd floor.
Automobile parking is available in the City & County of Honolulu
parking lot at the Fasi Municipal Building (free after 4:00 p.m.); automobile
entrances are located on Beretania & Alapai Streets. Parking will not be
validated.

accommodations to participate at this meeting should call the OMPO office at
587‑2015 at least three (3) business days prior to the meeting.
